Want to look like Barbie? (PortraitProfessional)

Today when I was doing my daily update on Ads of the World, I saw ads for the program called PortraitProfessional. Usually I would just ignore ads like these, because  my opinion is the Photoshop is the best alternative. But just for fun, I decided to try it out.

This program is made with one purpose: to make you pretty. Thinner nose, bigger eyes, more puffy lips, stronger cheekbones, perfect skin. Everything we wish for – and you get it. In just a few seconds. The problem is that you have to customize the settings in a million different places to make it look like you’re still yourself. So doing it in Photoshop would have taken less time, and the result would probably look a lot more credible. BUT, if you want to look like barbie in just one click, download PortraitProfessional asap.

Here are some old (unedited) old photos of me that I have retouched in the program:

Problemet med å gjøre dette er at jeg nå føler at jeg egentlig trenger diverse ansiktsoperasjoner, linser, restylane i leppene og det som er. Så det er vel kanskje grunn nok til å la være å prøve programmet :p

The problem with doing this is that I am now convinced that I need plastic surgery in my face, contact lenses, restylane in my lips and so on. So maybe that’s reason enough to not try the program out :p

New directions :)

So, its been a looong time since I last posted anything. That’s because I have had a lot of stuff going on and I’ve made some big changes in my life. Biggest change; moved back to Norway! Spent a lot of time at our family cabin the the mountains (Ustaoset, Geilo). Beautiful weather all the time and just such a good feeling to be back.

Over the next weeks I am looking forward to working at Nordic Media Festival  together with my very good friend Jenny. Really looking forward to it! Hopefully we can get some fun backstage photos and meet some cool people in the business :) Also I found what is, I think, the best use of Pinterest I have seen. Really worth taking a look at.  Salvar el Artico  for Greenpeace. Brilliant!

Cliff jumping in Swan River

I live with some cray-cray people. And so even if I’m the kind of person that doesn’t do scary stuff, they are, and thats why we ended up going cliff jumping in Swan River. We prepared ourselves to walk a couple of miles in to the forrest to find a cliff somewhere. We packed some blankets, a little food and got ready to spend the day. When we got there it didn’t turn out at all how we pictured it. First of all, it started raining (!?!), second of all; the place was packed with kids. There was cliffs there, though. So, some of us. Not including me. Decided to jump after all, and it did look really fun. Even though I would never, ever, ever jump off a cliff.

… or, maybe next time :p

The perfect date for Valentines Day

To sit on the beach watching the sun set is like being caught between day and night. Just in-between. Kind of feels like your at the edge of the world. Pink and yellow all over. Warm sand on your feet. It’s like the world holds it’s breath while the sky turns dark.

So truly beautiful.

If you are in Perth, Australia. This is something you just have to do! Maybe the perfect date for Valentines Day? Buy a good wine, find a “private beach” and forget all about everything else for a couple of hours. We had a picnic at the beach (next to the main beach”) in Cottesloe. It really was like taking a break from life. Nothing to do but watch as the gorgeous sun sets in the horizon. A perfect moment.

Kangaroo paradise

Today we spent the day in John Forrest National park. We did walk for a bit along the “wild flower track” (beautiful), but most of the day we just hang out with the local kangaroos. I am in love!! There is a rangers office and a kiosk/tavern in the middle of the park where they feed them with suitable food. So around that area we were able to feed them with their pellets from our hands and cuddle and pet them. <3 aaaaaw!!  The owner of the tavern actually asked us afterwards if he could see some of the photos, because people so rarely get as close as we did. They are, after all, wild animals. Lucky us!

We especially made good friends with the biggest one called “Eddie” (we named him today) and one of the smaller ones called “Murphy” (my BFF, which we also named today). <3

My days in Australia (guest blog)

Hey!

Our first day in Perth, we went to the beach. Ive never seens water so blue and clear as in scarborough, nor Ive seen the beach so white and soft. And the warm of the sun felt lovley at my pale skin. We spendt the day laying in the sand, talking and laughing, looking at boys and saying “omg” or “wow”.

My second day in Australia was fabulouse. Australias national day! We went to the city to see the marked, the tents and the different activities wich was set up at this special day. We took lots of pictures, and we were all pleasent by the view of plains  flaying above our head, carrying different flags and banners. The locals were dressed up in funny costumes, who either showed the australian flag or the colors of the flag. It was dresses, funny glasses, gigant hats and other random stuff. I loved it!

I have allways wanted to travel to Australia, and as a little girl I promised myself to go on a holiday here someday. Though, I wasnt very happy when I heard that Susanne was leaving Norway to go study in the land down under. It was a hard time trying to get used to the thought that she was living so far away, and I felt very very sad. Susanne is the main reason why I have survived junior high this far, and it felt impossible that I would survive my last year without my great sister. Though, we kept our contact intact. It felt like she wasnt that far away when we sent each other snaps all the time, and talking on facebook. But I really missed her voice, and to actully see her beautiful smile. At last, the 10th of desember, I heard her car outside my house, and it felt like she hadnt been gone at all.

Me, Susanne and Kine travelled togheter back to Australia, where I was going to spend my next 11 days. Ive never been at a plain longer than 4 hours, and believe me, it felt like I was in another world from Oslo to Perth. It wasnt so bad as I had imagined, though, it just felt like a “chill weekend”, just reading, wathing movies and tv shows, and sitting still for hours.
When we walked out of the airport in Perth, after meeting two of the most wonderful people Ive ever met, I saw Australia for the first time. My first thought was “No way Im going back to Norway, or any other place at earth. Im staying RIGHT HERE”. It was like walking into the garden of Adam and Eve, just way better. I spendt our time driving from the airport looking at the beautiful houses, the rare trees and the sunny streets. At home, I was afraid that the heat would make me grumpy, but it almost didnt bother me the next wonderful days in Perth.

Ive had wonderful days here in Perth, as you can see in the pictures above, and Im so excited to have much more fun. Any plans of how to stay in Australia will be accepted, no matter how crazy they might be.

Thank you

Life is good in Australia <3

I’m baaaaaack! After a very, very nice holiday back in Norway with all my super-fantastic friends I am now back in perth. My little sister joined me for a couple of weeks, and I am loving having her here! So I’ll just post these photos from the beach today (thats about the only thing we have been doing here since we got back) AND a link to my fabulous roomie Martine‘s video from her blog showing our awesome celebration of Australia Day 2013.

I must say I was really impressed with the fireworks. Never seen anything like it. 26 minuets of amazing sparkle! You can see some of it in the video under. Loved it!

My little sis Ragnhild will be guest blogging about her stay here in our beautiful city. She probably has more fun stuff to say then me   ,)

Way too late but here goes… New York <3

I’ve been back in Norway for a couple of weeks now and I know I should have blogged about NYC a long time ago, but better late then never right? Back here in Norway its amazing. I love being home with friends and family. I’ll post some photos from here next. But first; NYC. We only stayed for three nights after we went to LA. But we had soo much fun. We stayed at a hotel called Howard Johnson (manhatten, china town). The service and our room was amazing but the location could have been better. Anyways, its just a quick taxi drive from everything ells and taxis aren’t too expensive.

Life in Malibu <3

On our way back to Norway for christmas, we decided to stop by LA and NYC. Our route is Perth-Auckland, New Zealand (where we spent 14 hours in “middle earth”) Auckland-LA, LA-NY, NY-Oslo. We spent three nights in Malibu with super jetlag. But still, we got to see different sides of LA. Vegard took us surfing (although I didn’t surf) in Malibu, we went to Venice Beach, we shopped in Santa Monica at third street. The streets there was so cozy. Really nice.  And we ate dinner at the amazing Yamashiro. Which I think is the finest restaurant I’ve ever eaten in. Everyone who visits LA really should eat dinner there. Fantastic!

We also had a really nice dinner at the house in Malibu with Vegards supernice landlord Richard. The house was up in the hills in Malibu with neighbors like Bob Dylan and Pat Benatar (who sings “hit me with your best shot”). The area was so amazing. Incredible views from every side of the house.
